Quick Summary
Getting your TABC certification can be a tiny bit confusing. Should you take it online or in-person? What are some things to consider? If you take it online, how do you go about signing up? And what do you do after? We’re here to help you throughout this entire process! In this blog, we cover everything from figuring out which learning method is best for you to step-by-step instructions (with helpful screenshots) on how to sign up.
Which method is best for you?
Use your past learning experiences and then do your research! When we talk about methods of learning, we’re talking about the two ways you can get your TABC certification: online or in person. Think to yourself, “How do I learn best?” Let us help you break down the different factors to consider.
Things to consider
-
Time
Consider how much time you have in your daily schedule. Do you have enough time to commute to a classroom and take the course? Or, would you rather take the class from the comfort of your own home? Choosing to take the course online is best for those who have busy schedules since you can break up the time to fit your schedule and don’t have to take the course all at once. Choosing to take the course in a classroom setting is best for those who have plenty of spare time since you also have to consider the commute time. It’s all about what’s most convenient for you.
-
Transportation
Transportation may be a concern for you. If you don’t have a car, then online certification is the most convenient way to get certified. Likewise, if you don’t want to commute to a classroom then an online course is perfect for you. You can save time and gas!
-
Finances
Typically, you can find online courses that are much cheaper than a course in the traditional classroom setting. This is because online classes don’t have instructors to pay and study materials to pay for.
-
Self-motivation
Online courses take self-motivation. You need to push yourself and have mental discipline. In a classroom setting, you have an instructor to guide you through the process and you’re less likely to be distracted by your surroundings.
-
Technology
If the thought of using a computer makes you nervous, then you should take the course in person. However, TABC online certifications don’t require you to be tech savvy. Your computer may need a certain browser or PDF reader, but these are usually already installed on your computer. For more information on technical information, click here.
